The World Health Organisation estimates that 1.3 billion adults worldwide are overweight and 600 million are obese.
It's fair to say that, for health reasons, it's not considered ideal to be obese. Obesity is the second highest cause of premature death in Europe and overweight people are more likely to suffer diseases such as diabetes.
But at least there's one reason for men packing a few extra pounds, it turns out they may be less likely to disappointed their partners in the bedroom.

A study by researchers at Erciyes University in Turkey, titled: "Insight on pathogenesis of lifelong premature ejaculation: inverse relationship between lifelong premature ejaculation and obesity," seems to indicate that overweight men last longer in bed.
The found that the larger guys with more belly fat and higher BMI could go for 7.3 minutes on average in the sack.
The study concludes: "We found that patients with lifelong PE were leaner than the healthy control cases and the number of the patients decreased as their BMI increased.

"In addition, the prevalence of obesity was lower in the PE group than in the control group."
Researchers also reckon that this is to do with overweight people having higher levels of the female sex hormone oestradiol, which apparently disrupts the chemical balance in the body. It also inhibits male orgasm meaning the men can go on longer.
Which means that all in all, the benefits might not outweigh the cons.
