Ken Jeong Is Ready To Take Over Henry Cavill's Role As Superman

The 'Crazy Rich Asians' star has caused a frenzy on the Twitter world after he posted a hilarious photoshopped image

Well, it looks like Ken Jeong has got his eyes on the role of Superman and now there's a hashtag trending on Twitter about it.

After Ken posted what I'm sure you'll agree is a seamlessly Photoshopped picture of his headon Superman's body, the funnyman and actor has been relentlessly trying to get the attention of Warner Bros in his ambitious bid to land himself the role of the Man of Steel.

Well, either that or he's taking the piss. You decide.

In his Twitter posts, the Hangover trilogy star photoshopped himself on to an image from Batman V Superman's infamous courtroom scene with a caption reading: "Make. It. Happen."

The hilarious tweet has received over 16,000 likes and almost 4,000 retweets.

Ken's apparent new career goal comes after rumours emerged surrounding Henry Cavill's future as Superman, following an unconfirmed report by The Hollywood Reporter last week.

There have been reports that his decision to step down from the role is a result of contract talks breaking down for an appearance in the upcoming superhero film Shazam!, while another source said his departure was due to a disagreement about his signing up for the role or Geralt of Rivia in the new Netflix show The Witcher.

Despite it all though, Warner Bros is yet to confirm any reports on the matter and Cavill's future in the show remains uncertain.

Rumours also abound that Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan could be in line for Cavill's replacement - but evidently not if Ken Jeong has anything to do with it.

The fans seem to be completely on board with it, too, and have fully embraced the #KenForKent and #KenForSuperman hashtags.

One Twitter user said: "I fully endorse this."

While another said: "Can't spell Clark Kent with Ken." This is very true...

And if one superhero departure wasn't already too much for our poor hearts to handle, just days after the Henry Cavill rumours surfaced, it was reported that Ben Affleck will soon be hanging up the Batman cowl.

The actor is reportedly stepping down after studio execs claim they want to hit a 'reset' button on their superhero films.

And who's reported to be in line for his replacement? Mad Men star Jon Hamm. Apparently he's been reading comic books for years and is a fan of the superhero movie genre - when it's done well.

So it looks like we could be seeing some brand new faces on the superhero block very soon.

But who would you like to see as the new Superman? I know who I'm putting my money on.
