Gaming fans of a certain age will need no introduction to the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. It consisted of Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped and it was great.

The whole N. Sane trilogy was re-released as a PS4 exclusive last year after Activision announced that they still owned the rights to it - and now it's coming to other major platforms including Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

This means that all three of the original games will be available on most of your favourite consoles complete with updated graphics and modern features. It looks as if they have taken all of the original level data from the PlayStation games and moulded better graphics around them.

The remastered games will arrive on their various platforms on 10 July this year. Unfortunately, there are no plans to remaster Crash Team Racing as of yet, but we can only remain hopefully - after all, the racing parts were always the best bits of the Crash Bandicoot experience.

The first Crash Bandicoot game arrived as a PlayStation exclusive game in 1996 and became the eighth bestselling PlayStation game of all time.

If you're not familiar, it basically involves a pixelated bandicoot trying to stop the evil plans of Dr Neo Cortex, an evil genius (aren't they all) out for revenge on a world that made fun of him.

The game had some element of a racing game, a platform game, and a puzzle game, all taking place in some sort of neon tiki bar.

The trilogy was completed with the addition of two sequels, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot Warped that were also wildly successful riffs on the original theme.

After the N.Sane trilogy there were a whole load of other Crash games including Wrath of Cortex, Twinsanity, and Crash of the Titans.

Video Games these days just aren't what they used to be. They're almost too good, too realistic and too serious.

Gone are the days of silly, joyous games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and The Curse of Monkey Island. The hyper-real shoot-em-up and sports game have taken over.

However, the first three Crash Bandicoot games really made their way into the hearts of the gamers worldwide.
