Before you say it - yes, people are still playing Pokémon Go. So many, in fact, that the player base for the mobile game has actually climbed back up to its launch level.
The only reason these players decided to pick up their Pokédex once again is the fact that the developers, Niantic, have added a bunch of new updates.
These include new creatures and the friend/trading system, but thanks to the skills of a few cunning dataminers, we now know the next Pokémon set to come into the game. Here they are:

Now, we already knew about Celebi, but the others are a pleasant surprise. The cute, little onion monster will be available at the Pokémon Go Fest 2018 in Chicago this weekend, before switching to the new research quest prize in place of Mew.
The rest of the Pokémon found on the game files by The Silph Road are the regular and shiny variants of Smeargle, Celebi, Jirachi, Nincada, Ninjask, Shedinja, Clampearl, Huntail and the four different versions of Deoxys.
The game already had the original 151 creatures, and later updates added a wealth of new Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Alolan Form Pokémon, so now there's even more for you to be looking out for in the wild.
We don't yet know an exact date for these new additions, but we predict the wait won't be very long.
Datamining efforts have always been a success in the Pokémon Go world, so only time will tell if their luck will continue, or if it has finally come to an end.
