Marvel Tease Fantastic Four 'Spider-Man' DLC During Livestream

So, that whole M4RVEL GAMES thing was about Fantastic Four. But, come on, who guessed that the super quartet franchise would be coming to Marvel's Spider-Man?

In case you missed it, Marvel Games changed its logo's first "A" to a "4" last week, sparking speculation regarding Marvel vs. Capcom 4, Avengers 4 (Endgame), or anything Marvel 4-related.

We narrowed down a few possibilities, but selected a Fantastic Four revisit - whatever it may be - as the mostly likely outcome. Marvel did a similar A-to-4 swap with the latest Fantastic Four movie's poster, after all.

I won't lie, I believed that their deserved introduction into 2017's Marvel v Capcom: Infinite was for sure. But I'm glad I was wrong. Instead, "something 'fantastic'," as Marvel's Ryan Penagos said, is coming to Spider-Man.

Though a cameo from the superheroes would be great, it'd be a bittersweet feature. It's not like we're going to be able to play as Mr Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, or the Thing, is it? Marvel's Spider-Man (and DLC friends) just doesn't have the same ring. Plus, Insomniac is probably way too busy to develop powers for another four playable characters.

So my (hopeful) guess is that a villain from the original Fantastic Four comics will make an appearance. And, dressed as a Spider, we'll proceed to beat the life out of them. But I suppose that sounds more like paid DLC. So if it's destined to be free, it'll probably be another suit, like the recent addition of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 suit.

Our guess for that is much the same as a lot of yours, too - Bombastic Bagman. Alongside the in-game construction of the Baxter Building, and several other plausible eventualities (I'll get to those in a second).

The Spider-Man x Fantastic Four cross-over was announced during the first Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Week livestream, and later teased on Twitter by the official Marvel Games account. So keep an eye out for more updates.

As Fantastic Four Week proceeds, most likely on its final day, we'll find out what Marvel and Insomniac are planning. But while you're waiting, take a look at some of Twitter's best ideas, and make sure you let us know yours:
