Fortnite's V6.22 Patch Welcomes Heavy AR, Team Terror, Official NFL Skins

Fortnitemares, Epic Games' second Halloween celebration, is officially over, and players will soon get to enjoy a whole heap of new Fortnite content.

The game's V6.22 Patch notes have just been released, and a Limited Timed Mode debut, skin sponsorship, and classic multiplayer weapon headline this week's update.

It's worth mentioning that Fortnitemares Part 2 has begun in Fortnite's Save the World mode, and everything we chat about below is for Battle Royale.

Heavy AR

This weapon packs a punch! Carry your team with the brand new Heavy Assault Rifle.

Similar to the Epic and Legendary AR (which we all know is, and call, a Scar), the Heavy AR is inspired by another real world weapon, the AK47 - a gun that's featured in almost every shooter game, ever.

It can be found as floor loot or in chests, Vending Machines, and Supply Drops in a Rare, Epic or Legendary variant. It deals 44 (Rare)/46 (Epic)/48 (Legendary) damage and has a fire rate of 3.75, holding a magazine size of 25.

Team Terror - LTM

Two teams battle it out while Cube Monsters add to the fun in this large team Limited Time Mode.

Fortnite's new LTM centres around the recent arrival of Cube Monsters (Zombie-like creatures that spawned with Fortnitemares).

There's two teams of 32 players and the goal, as always, is to eliminate your opposition. However, Cube Monsters make it a little more interesting - they'll drop weapons or ammo when killed, with Gold monsters and monster spawners awarding you with Legendary items. Farming resources and floor loot, ammo, and chest rates have all been increased, too.

Official NFL Outfits

Fortnite and the NFL are teaming up for the ultimate football face-off. NFL themed Outfits debut in the Store starting November 9 at 7 PM ET.

According to Epic's Blog, each Outfit can be swapped to any of the thirty-two NFL teams, as well as a bonus Fortnite team. Owners will also be able to change their jersey number from 1-99. If only Fortnite could offer a Premier League mash-up...

And that's about it for new content. LTM Blitz (a mode which plays 15 minute max games) is returning, alongside a Storm max damage cap of 8, rather than 10.

Let us know what you think about this news, and which feature you looking forward to playing the most.
