'God Of War' Celebrates One Year Anniversary With Free Stuff

On April 20, God of War will celebrate its first anniversary. I find it hard to believe it's only been out for one year, it feels like such a significant game that it's been part of gaming history for much longer. Developer Sony Santa Monica is getting in on the birthday spirit by giving away freebies all of this week.

Kicking off the anniversary week, Sony Santa Monica released this video thanking fans for their support over the past year:

Along with the video, the team has made a God of War Anniversary avatar set and dynamic theme that are both free to download through the PlayStation Store. You don't need to own God of War to grab these freebies, either.

God of War director Cory Barlog also said on Twitter that there would be more coming this week, though he did make clear in a follow up tweet that that didn't mean more DLC for the game.

Naturally, we'd want any news on a God of War sequel but I don't expect that's going to come for another year or so yet. I mean, we're still waiting on Horizon Zero Dawn 2 to be officially confirmed, and the last game was released back in 2017.

What do you think Barlog was teasing? Let us know on Twitter and Facebook.
