A mysterious in-game image has surfaced from V1 Interactive, the studio opened by Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto.
Although not much (absolutely nothing) is known about the unannounced project, or the virtual settlement depicted within the capture, V1 said all will be revealed soon. Well, maybe not all. But something.
"We've still got some miles to tread before we can pull the curtain all the way back," the developer explained. "So stay tuned!"
V1 also says the image provides a "glimpse into a small corner of the larger world we're building," meaning it boasts a number of pointers, or clues, for the full game's setting and story.
On the surface, the city, or whatever it is, looks like a cross between something found in Fallout and Destiny. Some structures look man made, some metals look alien. One things for sure, though, there's been a war, and time has passed since it ended.
Buildings are broken and crumbling, plants have wildly sprouted, and the tank is at one with nature; leaves and who knows what growing on and around it. It must be on Earth, though. There's a cat(?) crawling on the tank's main gun.

But, as noted by Lehto, nothing major has been discovered - yet. "Still can't believe nobody's found some deep clues," he said. "Where are the internet sleuths of the old Halo days?"
I guess you'll just have to sit tight for an official announcement (or when someone finds a damn clue) to see what Lehto and his team are planning. In the mean time, it's worth noting that V1 is working with some pretty credible companies to bring this project to life.
The mysterious game will be published by Private Division, the new independent games label ran by Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto parent company Take-Two [via GameSpot]. Division is also working on The Outer Worlds, a newly announced RPG that developed by Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian.
