Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games' latest RPG masterclass, is - undoubtedly - one of the most detailed games of this generation, if not all time.
It's so detailed, in fact, that people are struggling to tell the difference between real life photos and in-game screenshots. In other words - job well done, Rockstar.
Take a look at this horse, for example. When my colleague sent it me, I thought 'wow, how much effort has Rockstar put into shadows?', and it looks like I wasn't the only one.

Originally posted by Reddit user Kelleykrider16, titled "The horses were standing so still that their shadows still have frost," I was in complete awe at the game's painstakingly brilliant attention to detail.
But stupid me didn't notice the thread was homed under "mildlyinteresting" instead of "gaming", so this image is, sadly, real. Looks like all those hours spent reading, writing, and playing Red Dead 2 has finally caught up with me. Worth it.
The same goes for a number for commenters, though, who said "Holy crap... I legit thought this was a Red Dead Redemption 2 post, for longer than I care to admit," and "I thought this was another RDR2 post showing the detail."

And why wouldn't we think it's real? The game makes you wait for bloody mud to dry before you can brush it off your horse, among other unnecessary, yet brilliant, things. I suppose this is why Red Dead 2 is hailed revolutionary, truly in a league of its own.
As said above, the fact gamers and non-gamers can't tell the difference between a video game and reality goes to show how successful Rockstar Games has been in creating a sense of realism. You guys deserve a medal.
Saying that, the Wild West epic has become the highest rated Xbox and PlayStation game of all time, smashing numerous sales records along the way. Not a bad reward at all.
