Netflix, Commission These Fans To Make A Full ‘Nier: Automata’ Anime

With Netflix now looking to adapt games into anime series, we have a Hyper Light Drifter cartoon to look forward to and, if the rumours are to be believed, a Diablo series down the line. But, a team of just six people has made a damn good case for why Nier: Automata deserves to get the same treatment.

Led by director Vincent Chansard, a student at Gobelins, this small team has made a seriously impressive one minute short:

After watching through at normal speed, I recommend playing it in slow motion, so you can see all the individual frames of the combat in action.

While the short was first released in January, we didn't see it until Kotaku picked it up and thought it was too good not to share.

Chansard shares on Twitter that the project started as just a ten shot small project, and grew from there.

You should check out the rest of their Twitter feed as they share a lot of other work in progress projects, that lift the curtain on the making of animated films.
