Persona 5, a JRPG set in modern-day Tokyo, is reportedly coming to the Nintendo Switch, following a worldwide PS3 and PS4 release in 2017.
This rumour sprang to life off the back of another Nintendo announcement, regarding the game's protagonist, Joker; he's set to become a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as part of the brawler's first DLC.
And it was MysticDistance, translator and secondary writer for fan site Persona Central, who came up with the goods. Though, their tweets will soon "be deleted as it can easily trace back to those who have let me in on this."
MysticDistance explains that Persona 5 will port to Switch next year. And it's announcement should come simultaneous to the day Joker enters Super Smash Bros. Ultimate [via Nintendolife].
But it won't be any old port. According to Mystic, it should boast a new title and launch with a number of in-game adjustments and additions, including never seen before story details.
In a tweet, Mystic shared a clue to its new name: "It's one of the domains I discovered. That's legitimately all I'm actually allowed to say because the information is that detailed."
This refers to P5U.jp or P5R.jp. Both domains were recently bought by an unassigned company, but Nintendo Soup has reasons to believe Persona 5 Reloaded is the game's official title.
The upcoming Switch port, noted by Mystic, isn't something new, either. "I've been aware of a Switch port being considered for a very long time now," they claim.
Joker's inclusion to Smash Ultimate was revealed just yesterday, during The Game Awards 2018 - the lights suddenly cut to black and the below trailer appeared on stage. Nintendo explained that all Smash DLC will release from now until February 2020, and with Joker being part of Challenge Pack 1, the wait for an official Persona 5 Switch announcement may not be far away.
