‘Red Dead Online’ Introduces New Spoils Of War Multiplayer Mode

For a while now, Red Dead Online (still in beta, remember) has been running a Showdown Series, intended for efficient completion of daily challenges. And now, it has a new multiplayer mode: Spoils of War.

Rockstar calls Spoils of War "a frontier take on capture-style multiplayer," and it's available right now. Up to 16 players can join in, defending stockpiles of swag while also attempting to steal from their opponents. Whoever nicks the most gear, wins the game.

This week also adds a 20% XP boost when participating in all Showdown modes, with Spoils of War winners taking home the little bonus of eight dynamite arrows, collectible from the post office or camp lockbox.

Also new to Red Dead Online this week is a collection of new clothing, including the pictured Tasman suit. Nice. Be sure to flick through your nearest Wheeler, Rawson & Co catalogue. In addition to the Tasman, look out for:

> The Danube outfit (female only)
> Tied pants
> Hitched skirt (female only)
> Gardenia hat
> Squat stovepipe top hat
> Winter shotgun coat

Which is all just *lovely* for regular Red Dead Online players, I'm sure. Rockstar is always watching how you play, you know, and encourages players of the new Spoils of War mode to leave feedback on the game's official website.

Are you still playing and loving RDO? Will it ever come out of beta? Did you ever get through the Red Dead Redemption 2 campaign? Let us know - we're on Facebook and Twitter.
