Ellie Set To Have NPC Helping You Survive Through 'The Last Of Us: Part 2'

Finally, some more news on The Last of Us Part II.

We all know that the original included the buddy system of Joel and Ellie, even though we pretty much only played as the former, but now we've discovered the sequel isn't going to be so different.

Although the gameplay footage suggested Ellie becoming a lone wolf, our protagonist will actually be partnered up with a computer controlled character just like the last game, but this time Ellie will be the main focus.

During an interview with Buzzfeed, director Neil Druckman confirmed this new development but wouldn't let slip on any of the juicy details.

He said: "It's safe to say with the game that we made in the past that there will be some NPC with you in this story, even though we're not showing [the NPC] in this [E3] demo."

So the big question is obviously 'who will it be?'

We didn't really see Joel much in the trailers, but there's nothing to stopping him from making an appearance in Part II.

One of the focal points for the teaser was Ellie's romantic relationship with another female, so there's also a pretty big chance it could be her.

It might even be more than one person - who knows? Well, Naughty Dog do, and they'll be the only ones in the loop for quite a while.

A launch date is set to be set for the upcoming PS4 exclusive, but there's no doubt it will be one of the biggest games of the year when it's eventually released.
