Treyarch Quickly Nerfs New 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4' Specialist, Zero

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII introduced a wealth of new content last week, including the brand-new Mulltiplayer specialist, Zero.

It was an exciting addition - but to say she arrived OP (overpowered) would be an understatement. In her original form, Zero was unquestionably one of, if not the most effective specialist of the lot. To the point where picking her was almost shameful. Almost.

She can hack any opposition scorestreak or special ability, putting enemies on the back foot immediately. Even more, her special ability, Ice Pick, hacked the whole opposing team. So scorestreaks and whatnot would turn against those that earned them, and all player HUDs scrambled, too.

If you managed to select her, cool. You were in for a right treat. But if you were unlucky enough to face Zero, it was frustrating to say the least. So much so, that players came together to form an unofficial 'Zero ban', like the community exclusion of Akuma from Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournaments [via Eurogamer].

As well as the ban, PS4 BLOPS IIII players complained in their masses after she made her debut last week (Sony and Activision's partnership means it came to PS4 first), which ultimately led to her nerfed release on Xbox One and PC yesterday.

Developer Treyarch toned down a number of her abilities, and explained: "As with all new features in Black Ops 4, we've been paying close attention to how Zero plays into the overall Multiplayer experience, and have tuned some of her abilities accordingly."

Here's every Zero change Treyarch have made, so far:

- Increased amount of time it takes to earn the Ice Pick.

- Increased time required to hack UAV, Care Package, and Counter UAV.

- Greatly increased time required to hack Sentry, Drone Squad, Sniper's Nest, Mantis, Thresher, Attack Chopper, and Gunship.

- Increased time required to hack Torque's Barricade.

- Hacking an enemy no longer prevents their healing cooldown.

- Hacking an enemy Assault Pack now causes it to expire.

What do you think about this update? Did you play as Zero, or ever face her? Was she as OP as many complained about? Let us know.
