Anybody who has ever owned an Apple product knows how expensive they are. No matter what type of Apple gizmo you have, you guard it with your life.

And as summer nears, speculation about the iPhone 8 builds. What will it look like? Are the leaked pictures just a classic piece of 'fake news' (the concept pictures look good mind)?

The cost will probably be the same as a small mortgage - I recently bought an iPad pro which itself cost enough, the keyboard case to go with it cost a third again on top of that.

But, according to a new report from analysts at JP Morgan, reportedly seen by 9to5Mac, the iPhone 8 may come bundled with a new pair of AirPods.

Previously, Apple gave you a free set of headphones, but then they stopped that with the latest model.

The iPhone 7 ditched the headphone slot, and despite a mini-backlash it looks like the new design feature will remain for the eighth edition.

Now the iPhone 8 is expected to come with a free pair of the $160 wireless headphones. They link to your iPhone (or Apple Watch) via Bluetooth and use sensors to automatically detect when they are in your ears - pausing and playing music accordingly.

Now, using Bluetooth will use more battery than perhaps normal, but there are ways to charge your iPhone quicker - you just have to know the secrets.

The new Bluetooth-using headphones also contain a pair of microphones, so you can control your music, change the volume and check your battery life using Siri. God, ain't technology clever.

The AirPods deliver up to five hours of listening time on one charge, and come in a special case which doubles up as a charger.

Now, something so fiddly and small, no longer attached to a wire, can be easy to lose. So, guess what, Apple have found a solution around that too.

In their latest iOS update, Apple added a feature called 'Find My AirPods' which, when activated, makes the AirPods play a sound loud enough to locate them within a room.

The iPhone 8 is expected to retail at over $1,000 (£770), so a free pair of headphones, which currently retail at $160, will go down nicely.

iPhone 8s will also have an OLED screen (to increase colour reproduction) and an infinity screen (meaning the home button will likely to be gone for good).

Release is expected to be around September time, with a 'special edition' version set to hit the shelves a year later.
