Samsung Unveils 219-Inch TV Called The Wall And It’s Seriously Impressive

Televisions these days are pretty impressively big; they're large enough for FIFA battles, binging on Netflix or screaming at when the footie is on.

But Samsung has just unveiled something so spectacular that everyone will want one in their living room or man-cave.

Introducing the company's 219-inch TV that they've nicknamed 'The Wall', because...well obviously it's as big as that.

Samsung pulled the curtain on this bad boy at the CES technology expo in Las Vegas, where tech companies are showing off their latest and greatest inventions sure to be a hit with everyone.

Who couldn't love a TV that big? It's probably so big that you wouldn't even need glasses to watch.

Imagine battling with your mates in Call of Duty or watching back-to-back episodes of Rick and Morty on this thing.

You're probably thinking something like that might have to compromise on image quality, but according to AnandTech, it's better than 4K thanks to Micro LEDs.

A statement from Samsung reads: "These transformative TV displays are made up of individual modules of self-emissive Micro LEDs, featuring millions of inorganic red, green and blue microscopic LED chips that emit their own light to produce brilliant colours on screen.

"The Wall 2019 takes personalisation to the next level, with modular panels that consumers can position in any size or shape to meet their needs.

"These next-generation modular Micro LED displays harness self-emitting technology to create elegant, efficient and powerful screens that are liberated from the limitations of existing technologies."

This is the second vision of the massive telly, with the South Korean company releasing The Wall 1.0 last year at the CES conference, which was still an eye-watering 146-inches.

Now, if 219 and 146 inches are way too big for your eyes or your actual wall then that's understandable. At the same expo, Samsung unveiled a TV that's a humble 75-inches, which it has dubbed 'The Window'. Doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?

There's no word yet on how much The Wall 2.0 or The Window will set you back but we can assume that it will cost you a pretty penny.

All we know is that if this is the trend for the future, we're all going to have gigantic TV screens in our living rooms by 2025. The tiny square box from the 90s and early 2000s will be but a distant memory and future generations will scoff at the idea of watching something on a TV so small.
