A man who has had sex with over 1000 cars has finally decided to settle down.
Edward Smith from Washington in the US is a self-confessed mecaphile, the term for people who are sexually attracted to machines, and says he has felt this way since being a teen.
Since then he's had sex with a whopping 1000 cars; he's even had sex with an attack helicopter. Sounds risky.
Edward explains: "Some guys look at boobs and bums on beautiful women. I look at the front and rear on beautiful cars.
"I go a little bit beyond appreciating the beauty of a car, to the point of what I feel is an expression of love.
"I write poetry about cars, I sing to them and talk to them like a girlfriend.
"I'm not sick. Cars are just my preference."
At his peak Edward was shagging a car a week. And I can't even get a text back.
He's been with Mustangs, luxury Jaguars but finally, in 2013, Edward put his playboy/joyriding days behind him and settled down with one long-term car - Vanilla, a second-hand Volkswagon Beetle he's had for 30 years.
Although, he also admitted that it was an 'open-relationship' and that he was still sleeping with him 1973 Opal GY (which he calls Cinnamon) and a Ford Ranger called Splash.
Edward continues: "When I hold Vanilla in my arms there's a powerful energy that comes from her.
"I would say it is extremely satisfying but at times a little melancholy because I know she cannot talk to me. But overall I know she feels what I feel and its intense.
"If anything was to happen to her I would be more than heartbroken."
Edward has only had sex with one woman, a one-night stand, but he wasn't keen. Instead he's looking forward to settling down with Vanilla.
And, although temptation is out there, he's sure that him and Vanilla are the real thing: "I know better now than to pursue other people's private property without permission.
"I will not deny that I look at other cars on TV or at shows and still get those old impulses and desires - but those were the early days. Now I want to settle down with Vanilla."
Each to their own, I guess.
