Boy Upstages His Newly-Wed Parents By Flossing As They Cut Wedding Cake

You'll know someone who loves the chance to do an epic photobomb or start pissing about behind their mates in a video. Let's be honest, though, most of the time it doesn't turn out as well as you'd hope. This little LAD has done the complete opposite.

Jay took it upon himself to steal the limelight from his mum and dad's wedding. How did he do it, you ask? The eight-year-old started doing the floss dance while his newly-wed folks were cutting their wedding cake.

Stacey and Brian Paterson, who are from Falkirk, Scotland, were unaware of the little trouper showboating behind them, with the guests going crazy for his skills.

To Jay's credit, he's not doing a bad job - far from it, in fact. As you can probably imagine, the video has been an instant hit online and people are finding it as entertaining as the guests did.

"I thought, 'Cake cutting, isn't this exciting,' while everyone laughed and got out their phones," said Stacey. "It was only a couple of days after the wedding that I realised the cheers weren't for us, but for Jay 'flossing' behind us.

"We were a bit upstaged. I had no idea he was even on the dance floor because I was too busy smiling for the cameras. I turned to my husband and said 'surely everyone should be sitting down by now?'

"We were just stood there and thought it was going on for a bit too long. The cake wasn't even made of sponge - it was all cheese - so it wasn't even like we had anything to cut. We were both stood holding the knife and smiling for ages."

Jay learned the dance move via YouTube and, like any child would do, spent the rest of the night teaching his friends and family how to do it.

Of course, Jay has no regrets for what he did - not that he needs to either - saying that he's 'delighted' and 'proud of himself' for creating what is probably the best moment of the day.

Many of you'll know that the floss dance is featured in Epic Games' Fortnite, which has gripped so many players around the world. If it's not Antoine Griezmann doing 'Take the L' at the World Cup final this summer, then it's this dude showing that Fortnite fever isn't over.

Fair play to the kid, especially as he wants to be a YouTube star. If he keeps busting moves out like that, then he'll be an even bigger hit in no time.
