Fury vs Schwarz result: Tyson Fury sweeps aside German opponent in second round

Tyson Fury blew away Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas to remain on course for another world title shot and avoid the same fate as Anthony Joshua.

The British heavyweight won in the second round on Saturday night against his German opponent at the MGM Grand.

It came just a fortnight after domestic rival Joshua was stunned by Andy Ruiz Jr in New York in a result that sent shock waves through the division.

But Fury avoided an upset and it set for a shot at either champion Ruiz Jr or Deontay Wilder next.

It took just two rounds for Fury to storm past the German in Las Vegas in a punch-perfect performance.

Fury boxed on the outside in a cagey opening round, but began to land at will in the second before putting his man on the floor with a stinging left hand.

Referee Kenny Bayless stepped in and stopped the fight with six seconds left in the second round and Schwarz taking a punishment.

Fury said: "The key tonight was to enjoy myself. I used the jab, caught him with a straight left and it would have put anyone away. I put on 12 pounds and really felt it.

"I came here to have fun and put on a show and I hope everybody enjoyed it as much as I did.

"We have got either September 21 or October 5 next and then next year we're going to hunt down Deontay Wilder for that green belt."
