One of the biggest super fights in history may have just been confirmed, as Conor McGregor took to his various social media profiles to post a picture of himself and Floyd Mayweather, suggesting the bout between the two outspoken champions is set to be confirmed.

The pair have traded verbal shots back and forth in interviews and on social media for the past few months, with Mayweather apparently outraged at McGregor's claims that he could hand him his first ever career defeat. A proposed fight has been rumoured ever since the rivalry flared up and, according to reports, the fight was agreed 'in principle' on 2nd May.

Many boxing and MMA fans have doubted the reports, but with the rumours refusing to go away, McGregor has poured more fuel on the fire by uploading the below picture with the caption 'MMA vs Boxing', suggesting we're close to hearing a confirmation of what would be a potentially £1bn 'Fight Of The Century'.

McGregor would apparently be willing to lose 25lbs to make the fight happen and would take £7m of the purse, with Mayweather picking up a staggering £100m. Whether McGregor could make the transition back to straight boxing from his MMA career to hang with Mayweather in the ring is debatable, however, despite the Irishman's ferocious punching ability.
