An eagle-eyed Google Maps user on Reddit has discovered what looks like disembodied body parts in the mountains in Connecticut.

Reddit user the_salty_bisquit posted a screenshot of the body to a Google Maps subreddit, where members share weird and hilarious discoveries they make using the software.

It shows a man's leg and hand in the snow.

"Disembodied leg and hand, halfway up a mountain in Meriden, CT," they said in the post.

"What does it cost to climb this mountain in Meriden, CT? A hand and a leg?" One user joked in the comments, playing on the popular expression: "it cost an arm and a leg."

"Frostbite is no joke," said another, joking that the man had got frostbite

"I gotta hand it to him. He was one step ahead of us," wrote somebody else.

As the puns poured in, it was clear that what we're witnessing here isn't some horrific murder scene, but just a funny glitch in Google Maps which makes the man's body appear to be half missing.

This isn't the first time Google Maps has created a trippy optical illusion. A highway in Spain looks as though it's being swallowed up due to a glitch in Google Maps.

And when it's not glitches, it's freaky UFO sightings or couples caught having sex in inappropriate and hilarious places, or a naked man with it all on display.

And sometimes, things are exactly what they appear to be, like this exploded building discovered in North Korea, this secret military base in the Sahara Desert, this man doing a poo on the side of the road in the Netherlands.

It's even possible to find the I'm a Celebrity jungle camp in Australia on Google Maps and the Love Island villa.

And here's how you can get a job travelling the world as a Google Maps driver.
