Snorkeller Finds Groom's Missing $1,000 Wedding Ring Around Body Of A Fish

A snorkeller found a groom's missing $1,000 wedding band around the neck of a fish.
Suzie Quintal and her husband Nathan Reeves were going for a swim off the coast of Norfolk Island (a tiny Australian island) where they were visiting family, when Nathan realised his wedding ring was missing.
Luckily a local snorkeller came to the couple's rescue and spotted the missing ring lodge around the body of a mullet fish.
Susan Prior, who runs the Norfolk Island's Reef website, heard that the pair had lost the piece of jewellery and went looking for it before managing to track them down on Facebook.
The joys of social media, eh?
Now the only problem is removing the ring from the fish without causing it harm, which could be tricky.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Susan explained how seeing the fish trapped in the ring was 'gut wrenching'.
She said: "The metal can only be removed by catching the fish in a net and gently removing it.
"The fish seems to be OK so far but as it grows, the ring will cut into it."
According to Suzie Quintal, they had looked everywhere for the ring without success.
She told the newspaper: "He tried to look for it and then broke the news to me and I was not happy.
"I always tell him to take it off before he goes for a swim.
"He lost it a day before our second wedding anniversary."
She said locals are now trying to help them get the ring back, adding: "People are now trying to source nets, some have got scuba gear.
"The team in the glass bottom boats are going to have a look - Norfolk's really good like that.
"I just couldn't believe it. I've got a few friends on the island and they're pretty adamant that they'll find it.
"It doesn't worry my husband, he doesn't understand all the fuss.
"I'm just worried about the poor little fish."
