Wildlife Photographer Shocked To Find Flock Of Seagulls Playing With A Dildo

We're all used to seeing the birds with chips in their mouths; dildos, not so much

Conservation wildlife photographer Jennifer Leigh visited the Children's Pool in La Jolla, California, on Tuesday in the hope of capturing snaps of some newborn seals in the area. But her head was turned by a rowdy flock of juvenile seagulls playing with what appeared to be a bit of plastic.

As a conservationist, Jennifer was understandably angered by the sight, with plastic pollution a huge threat to wildlife across the planet. However, she couldn't help but chuckle to herself when she zoomed in and realised that the mysterious object in question was actually a big dildo.

Mine mine mine.

Speaking to Gizmodo, she said: "Before realising what the object was, I was annoyed and mad, because plastic pollution is a real serious problem, and as a conservation photographer I'm documenting human impacts on wildlife.

"But when I realised what it was, while the other emotions still existed, you can't help but find humour in it."

She's not wrong - on paper you'd think witnessing pollution interfering with wildlife could never be funny, but it turns out that if the pollution is a dildo, then it is definitely a little bit funny.

Jennifer hopes the pictures will help to raise awareness of plastic pollution.

Jennifer - who works with conservation organisations such as the Cheetah Conservation Fund and Shoot'em with a Camera - added that the comical nature of the snaps has helped them to go viral, which in turn has helped to raise awareness of the problem of plastic pollution. So in a way, this dildo has given us a happy ending.

But while seeing a seagull with a dildo in its mouth is most unusual, it is far more common to see dogs with sex toys in their gobs.

A gull with a dildo in its mouth is a new one for all of us. I hope.

I personally have never witnessed this sight, however, it feels as though every month a dog walker is left mortified after their pooch emerges from some shrubbery with a dildo in its mouth.

Richard Crum is the latest to experience doggy dildo embarrassment. He was walking his cocker spaniel Florence in Ossett, West Yorkshire, on Sunday 2 February and made the grave error of forgetting her ball. This was no problem for the four-year-old pooch though, as she found two balls and a c**k to play with instead.

Richard said: "I was incredibly shocked that someone could accidentally leave their personal item in the middle of open countryside, after trying to work out what it actually was.

"At first I thought she'd found a rubber chicken when she ran towards me, but when she got closer I realised it certainly wasn't a chicken, more of a c**k.

"I couldn't resist getting a couple of pictures of the proud Florence and her new toy.

"I didn't know whether to laugh or cry."

If you ask me, dogs finding dildos will always be a laughing matter.
