Cats are independent little creatures and they don't often show the same companionship as dogs. Well, so we were led to believe - until we saw this video of Glenn the cat:

So, just when you thought your cat couldn't give a damn about where you were or what time you were going to walk through the door, think again.

The footage was captured by Glenn's owner Alexa, who decided to set up a pet camera to keep an eye on Glenn when she wasn't home.

What she didn't expect is to see her once-stray cat waiting patiently at the window for her. When she parks up outside, little Glenn runs across the room meowing and scratching at the door until Alexa walks through.

She's now vowed to get another cat because she can't bear the thought of Glenn being on his own, telling Bored Panda: "It was heartbreaking! We're looking to get another cat soon so he'll have company in the future."

Alexa shared the video on TikTok alongside the caption: "I thought a cat cam would help me feel better about leaving Glenn at home," followed by an emoji of a crying face.

People replied to the video, encouraging Alexa to get another cat. One said: "That's so dear and sweet. Yes get Glenn a cat friend! But ease into it, because cats need to be introduced slowly to each other."

Another added: "Glenn has a sweet and cute meow sound. He's a sweetheart. I'm a big cat lover and I always suggest getting at least two cats, if not three or more."

A third commented: "They know you're home even before you hit the door."

According to the Mirror, Glenn was a stray kitten when Alexa stumbled across him after he showed up at her office where she works as a speech therapist and digital artist.

The pair immediately formed a bond, and Alexa took him in after realising he was a stray.
