Woman Identifies Boy Who Was Secretly Playing With Her Dog

This pulls on the heartstrings.

If you're a pet owner you will most likely know the hurt you go through when you lose a family animal that had been part of your life for such a long time. We take our pets for granted when they're with us, nicking our bed space and bugging us in the early hours, no matter how much we berate them for it.

But when they are gone you really notice it, and without being able to avoid a cliché, it leaves a massive hole in your life.

As for Hollie Breaux Mallet, a woman from Louisiana, she has a pet dog.

There's nothing unusual about that. However, Hollie has a CCTV camera in her garage and she noticed that an unnamed boy would regularly run into her garage just to pet her dog, and then run off again.

The young boy was seen riding his bike past her house before jumping off, running into the garage to play with and cuddle her dog Duchess, and then running back out and heading home.

Ms Mallet then shared the video to Facebook in the hope of being able to find the boy.

'Attn Neighbors! Anyone know who this sweet little boy is?' the post read. 'Every now and then when he rides his bike he will quickly come and love on my dog or play fetch real quick, but always leaves quick like he doesn't know if he should be here!'

She then added: 'I'd like to tell him he's welcome to stay and play, she loves the attention!'

Within 24 hours the boy's mother had replied and confirmed that the boy in the video was indeed her son.

'Thanks for the add Hollie! Josh talks about your dog all the time! Every time we pass he looks to see if she was sitting where he could see her. Just didn't know he was doing things like this', Ms Breaux wrote.

'Last night when I first saw it, I was torn as a momma being happy and upset because he knows he shouldn't be on someone's property, but I wake up this morning more happy that he just absolutely adores dogs so much'.

She then posted two selfies her son Josh had taken with the dog, named Duchess.

Ms Breaux said her son 'turned ten shades of red' when she showed him the video but 'had a big smile after and said "you know I love dogs momma".'

The reason why Josh was so keen on seeing the dog is unfortunately very sad.

'I figured I would comment this on here since a lot of people are asking... currently we do not have a dog', she wrote.

'We had our dog Bella since Josh was two, but she passed away last year. Things have been busy and Josh is active with after school activities so we have not jumped back into taking on the responsibility of starting all over again with a new pup quite yet. It will happen though!'

Hopefully Josh and Duchess will get to go on adventures outside of Hollie's garage now.
