A racist met their match on Twitter after he tweeted to say a black model would be hotter if she was 'lighter'.

19-year-old Mimi Mbah, originally from Cameroon, now living in Maryland, USA, was featured on a Twitter account called 'African Beauties'.

The abusive tweet said 'it [sic] she was lighter, she'd be fire' after pictures from her Instagram page were tweeted by the account.

Her simple reply was: 'No thanks I wouldn't trade my skin colour for the world'.

Her response has been met with a wave of support: 58,521 likes and 21,476 retweets on the last count.

She had screengrabbed the original comment, from tweeter who initially went by the name of Tosh, but has since changed it to 'Kendal Jenner Fan'.

The tweet has since been deleted, but looking on their profile, it would appear this isn't the first racist argument he's been involved in.

A post, around the same date, shows him getting called out for saying that Paris Jackson isn't Michael Jackson's daughter because 'she isn't black'.

Although Mimi says that she is not surprised by the message, she told the Daily Mail that she 'definitely felt disappointed' and has never encountered abuse like it before.

She said: "Reading the comments I definitely felt disappointed to see that there are still people out there that shame others for the darkness of their skin, but it didn't surprise me because I've heard comments like those before.

"I wanted to stand up not only for me, but for anybody who has felt or feel less than due to the ignorance of others."

Mimi added that she still is waiting for an apology from 'Tosh' but added: "I hope he's learned from this."

However, she's happy there is a huge positive to come out from this. She told BuzzFeed News: "Now I feel like I have a platform which I want to use to talk about thing like that and give advice to other dark skin women who are going through similar situations and probably blaming themselves for it.

"I actually wanted people to see that colourism is real.

"Overall, I want my dark skin girls to know that we are chocolate goddesses no matter what anyone else says."

It's good to see Mimi pushing small-minded people like 'Tosh' back in their box - the only place where their thoughts are appreciated.
