Let's face it, the Distracted Boyfriend meme is probably the funniest and most useful meme for a quick bit of banter out there right now.

This work of internet geniuses has only been around since the start of 2017 but feels like it has been there forever. Here's just how much LADbible are fans of the Distracted Boyfriend meme:

Now we've reached that time of year when people usually try their best to out-do each other with their impressive or outlandish Halloween costumes.

But why do that when you can share the same costume with two other people for the combined price of three pieces of paper?

Yeah, this year's hot Halloween costume has been the Distracted Boyfriend meme, and it seems like tonnes of people have been getting in on the act.

Take a look at this attempt published by the scriptwriter Chase Mitchell, who has previously written for The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon:

That is true venom, right there. Just look at the disapproving look in the jilted woman's eyes. H/T to the joint effort.

It seems that there are several ways of trying to capture this essential piece of banter and translate it into a real-world party scenario with your mates.

Someone else responded to Mitchell and explained how her friend went it alone and wore the whole photo all night:

It can't have been easy for her to get through that door.

Other party-goers went for a lower budget approach, printing out just the photo of the Distracted Boyfriend:

Another commenter made a point we've all been wondering, pointing out the practical issues of choosing this particular costume.

As Halloween costumes go, the Distracted Boyfriend meme is among the classics and highlights the point of what Halloween is all about: making yourself look like a dick and having a laugh.

It just goes to show that you don't need to dress up as a shit-scary clown to make a statement. All you need is a printer and a few pennies' worth of A4.
