Is A New Version Of Cards Against Humanity About To Land?

Introducing Bad Words...

In May 2011 Cards Against Humanity was released and the world changed forever. The Kickstarter project a group of Highland Park High School students from Texas started gained support like no other crowdfunding campaign has and today we have one of the most un-PC and enjoyable card games known to man.

The chances of a card game ever repeating that success off the back of a Kickstarter campaign are slim but we think we might have just found one that could rival Cards Against Humanity's in the near future.

This is Bad Words and it is quite literally a cross between everybody's favourite dirty card game, Cards Against Humanity, and everybody's favourite quiet-evening-in-with-your-friends game, Taboo.

The idea is that you pick up a card with something disgusting on it and you can't use any of the words below to describe the horrendous thing you need your teammates to guess. Make sense? It's literally Taboo with dirty words.

The idea was spawned by four friends who one night came up with the game when Cards Against Humanity became repetitive and Taboo was just too boring.

"We were doing a typical get-together - the men and the wives/girlfriends - and were looking for something to do. We thought about playing Cards Against Humanity but we thought we'd played it too much. We went through an old box of games and found Taboo. The problem with Taboo is that we were a group of very inappropriate and dirty-minded people."

And that's how Bad Words was born.

As time went on, creators Greg, Damian, Chris and Louis decided they'd had enough of their dead-end jobs and wanted to create a company making their crazy ideas - namely Bad Words - into reality. They created Hosnovan and a Kickstarter campaign with the promise of delivering Bad Words to the people.

The Baltimore-based guys are in the middle of updating their campaign to ask for just $10,000 rather than the initial $30,000 they wanted. That's thanks to them striking a deal with Cards Against Humanity's manufacturer who can make more copies of their game for a much cheaper price.

And you won't get bored of Bad Words, like you might with Cards Against Humanity. The guys have already started thinking up 'expansion packs'.

"We're not a Cards Against Humanity knock off. This game is a great alternative, to those who have fatigue of their typical games, or for those who want to try something different."

If you want to support these guys in making a not-family-friendly version of Taboo and an alternative to Cards Against Humanity - and you should - head over to the guys' Kickstarter and donate now. I know I will be.
