Lad Saves £1,000 A Month Thanks To His Unique Living Arrangements

Genius.

As we grow older we all come to the realisation that living is fucking hard simply because of the price. It seems it costs to not only eat and stay clean but also breathe, move and wipe our arses.

There's some alternatives to saving money, but this lad has hit the nail on the head when it comes to living arrangements and saves £1,000 a month.

24-year-old Alex Hill decided that paying rent is a mugs game and moved into the back of his Ford Transit van which he has kitted out to make it a nifty mobile home.

Alex works in an I.T firm in London and enjoys his life in his van, but will admit that he's made some comprises and it's not the life for everyone.

"The plan was to stay with friends until I got another flat, but I decided to try out living in my car for a few weeks and showering at work. Being in my van, every night I can go out with friends and generally just do more stuff. It's much more fun than cooking for one, watching TV and then sleeping for £600 a month rent. I can enjoy London and still have spare money," Alex said.

Alex says that one of the drawbacks (among many) of sleeping in his van is not having a toilet he can use in the evening, therefore he doesn't consume any drink after 7pm.

"I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. The most important thing for me was that I could still shower every day at the office, but it depends what you feel you need. If you can fill up every single evening a week and effectively just have a place to sleep, then sure, go for it," he said.

I fancy giving it a try, to be honest. Anyone want to lend me a van?
