Everybody has that one mate who parties way too hard.

He's the kind of guy who always wants one more drink regardless of how many Jagerbombs he's already thrown down his neck. And when the lights come on at the end of the night, he's the first one to ask where else is open before staggering down to the kebab shop, playing some obscure EDM from his phone, asking everyone why they're being so boring.

In a nutshell, he is dedicated to the sesh.

But dedication can take many forms. For some, it's drinking more than anyone else. For others, it's staying out later than anyone else. But for 18-year-old Nathan Welsh, dedication means going out to a nightclub, literally breaking his leg, going to hospital and getting back to the club before closing time.

I don't know if anyone reading this has ever broken a bone but all I wanted to do when it happened to me was lie down and not move until it was better. To get stitched up at the hospital and return in one night is pretty impressive.

"I broke it by trying to pick someone up for a laugh and just fell over within like half a second," Nathan told TheLADbible. "As soon as I fell over I knew it was broken."

Sitting on the stage in agony for a few minutes he then hobbled outside the night club, swearing and shouting, while a friend called him a taxi.

"No one took me seriously," he continued.

Eventually he arrived at the hospital where he was bandaged up and told he should probably not return to the club, and should go home, rest and sober up.

However, with his friends still out having fun, he didn't want to miss out and so returned to Digital, in Newcastle, where he had to stand in a hospital gown with a broken leg while asking to be let back in.

He added: "The pain wasn't that bad until the next day. I nearly passed out getting into the taxi to go to the hospital again.

"It was nothing like the day before."

And that, ladies and gents, is why you should just listen to your doctor, no matter how much value you place on your own alcohol-induced bad judgements.

Nathan, from Blyth, has been told it'll take about six weeks for him to fully recover.

Remember, kids, drink responsibly. Broken bones are fucking awful.
