Dad Barrie Drewitt-Barlow has proposed and is now engaged to his daughter's ex-boyfriend Scott Hutchinson while all three were holidaying in Croatia.

Barrie and his husband Tony Drewitt-Barlow hit the headlines back in 1999 after they became the first gay men in the UK to father twins born through surrogacy.

Fast forward to 2020 and Barry has split from Tony (but they still live together) and is now in a relationship with his daughter's ex - and the pair are having a baby via a surrogate.

According to The Sun, the romantic proposal took place on the island of Hvar, just off the coast of Split.

Saffron, 20, and Scott, 25, dated a few months before he fell in love with Barrie, 50.

Barrie, who is originally from Manchester but lives in Florida, posted a video of the set up for the proposal which showed a boat that was decorated with candles and rose petals.

They had a bottle of champagne as well as a huge diamond silver ring and Barrie can be heard saying: "What happened here tonight?

"I wonder what it could be? There's Champagne, there's roses, uh, uh, uh, oh... what do you think happened here? And is that something over there?"

Barrie and Tony, 55, who are worth a reported £40 million ($52m) and live in a £6 million ($7.8m) 10-bedroom mansion, went on to have three more children after their twins, Saffron and Aspen, were born in 1999.

In October, Barrie and Scott will welcome their baby girl, with Barrie revealing that Tony will be the baby's godfather.

Speaking to The Sun, Barrie said: "We are thrilled we are going to become daddies again. Tony is excited too, although it does underline that our marriage really is over after all these years, so it is very bittersweet.

"But we are all going to remain living under the same roof. Tony is Dad, I'm Daddy and while at the moment Scott is stepdad, soon he's going to be Daddy Two.

"We are happy, we want to co-parent our kids and that's all that matters. If people don't get it, that's their problem, not ours."
