Chris Pratt is a good guy. Not just because he plays good guys in films - although, obviously, that does help him - but he's also a stand-up LAD in real life as well.

He's been showing just how much of a top bloke he is over the last few days by spending a little time with Jacob Monday, a terminally ill teenager. Jacob has a rare bone cancer and has decided to end his treatment and enjoy his remaining time to the fullest, which Chris Pratt has been more than willing to help out with.

Pratt has been helping him to achieve his goals, via the medium of Instagram. In a long post, he wrote "Dear world, This is my new pal Jacob Monday. @j8ke.monday He is a 16-year-old kid from upstate New York with a unique and powerful story. He was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer. He recently decided to stop treatment and is currently checking things off his bucket list. Needless to say he and his family have been through a lot."

"One of the things he wants to do is get a ton followers on Instagram," added Pratt. "So follow his story for updates, and to help as he checks off items on his wish list! Show the love!!! Another thing he wanted besides meeting the star of his fav movie was to get his hair and makeup done! Ha!!"

He followed that up with a selfie of him and Jacob, captioned "Here we are living that glam life."

He ended the post with: "Jacob and I had fun chatting and kicking it for a few hours. Let's see how many followers we can get him! #FollowJacobMonday" - a move which seems to have paid off, as Jacob now has almost 100,000 followers.

Chris himself posted from Jacob's Instagram, explaining: "This is Chris Pratt writing from Jacob's instagram. He wanted me to write this caption. We're kicking it in New York City playing some games and catching up. He's hilarious, earnest, honest and powerful. I love this kid. Take a moment to hug your kids."

Instagram likes are one thing, but they don't always translate into cold hard cash. Jacob's mother has been fundraising to help her son make the best of his remaining time, setting up a GoFundMe with a target of $15,000 - a target that has now been well exceeded, with $25,000 already raised.

It reads: "Jacob Monday is a kind, caring, incredible young man, who is currently a sophomore in high school. For the past 17 months, he has been undergoing treatment for a rare form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma. They believed the treatment had worked; however, when he went to have his port removed, tests showed that his cancer had spread to his lungs and other cells. Faced with a distressing prognosis, Jacob has made the decision to discontinue treatment. He wants to be able to enjoy his life to the fullest in the time that he has remaining."
