You probably wouldn't think that modelling would be a particularly high-risk job, but try telling that to Kate Upton, who was almost swept away after being hit by a freak wave while posing for Sports Illustrated.

The model was taking part in a topless shoot in Aruba when she was knocked off her feet by the wave. Wearing nothing but a long skirt, the 25-year-old model was seen scrambling for safety after being knocked off the rock she was stood on.

Thankfully, she didn't appear to land too heavily on the rock and was helped up by a guy on set, who almost ended up being dragged in himself for his trouble.

Sports Illustrated shared the video of the incident on its Instagram page, with Upton saying: "The next coming wave didn't look that large from my point of view but it must have hit the rock just right.

"The skirt with all the tulle, whenever it's wet is very heavy and dragged me down.

"Everybody was very scared."

I hope she got paid danger money for doing this. As well as almost being swept out to sea, Kate nearly lost the skirt she was wearing at the time, as the weight of the sodden material pulled it down revealing her flesh-coloured undies - it's all glamour this modeling stuff, isn't it?

According to the Mirror, she suffered 'minor injuries to her feet', but managed to see the funny side and was later snapped laughing at the incident.

And, once dry, professional Kate was able to carry on with the shoot - which took place in October - and the results were published in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, which is out today. So all's well that ends well, eh?

It's not the first time Kate's graced the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition - she was crowned Rookie of the Year back in 2011, and has since appeared in the magazine in 2012, 2013 and last year.
