A woman documented the moment she thought she'd met Louis Theroux on a night out in Blackpool:

TikToker Veronica Glendinning posted the video which featured snaps from a night on the tiles in the seaside resort of Blackpool.

Both herself and a friend were convinced that they'd bumped into the infamous documentary filmmaker in a boozer where he was sitting down for a pint.

She captioned the video: "This is another BELTER I CAN'T [sic] BREATHE" alongside the 'waking up in the morning' sound.

The video has been viewed on the video sharing platform over 130,000 times and has more than 15,000 likes and nearly 600 comments from amused viewers.

Many of the people watching the clip agreed with Veronica and understood why she mistook the man for Theroux himself. One wrote: "To be fair it does look like him."

While another added: "He looks more like Louis Theroux than Louis Theroux does."

A third questioned: "Why is Louis Theroux at a Toby Carvery?"

Someone else was so convinced, they claimed that they had to watch the video three times before believing it wasn't the real deal - and they were sober.

In another message, someone was trying to work out who the Louis Theroux imposter was, asking: "I'm going to ask the guys at work tonight to see what they think. I'm pretty sure he works at my company on a different shift. I'll keep you posted."

They went on: "I've not seen him for a bit, but as soon as I do I'll show him your clip, he'll laugh his head off."

Another then chimed in: "I love that someone actually knows him and is gonna show him. Amazing."

Sharing their own story of mixing a lookalike up with the real person, someone wrote: "I did this with a guy in Newcastle. Thought it was Lincoln off Prison Break. Nope, just some random guy."

We wonder what the real Louis Theroux would think.

Well, everyone seems pretty convinced it was actually Louis Theroux. He could have been visiting Blackpool as part of his upcoming documentary which will look at the world of professional snooker... or something like that.

Gods of Snooker is set to air on BBC Two and will take a deep dive into the sport during the 1970s and 80s and is being made under his production company, Mindhouse Productions.

Nah, he was probably just there for a few goes on The Big One.
