Dancer Wears A Different Bizarre Costume Every Day To Walk Dog

A woman has been sharing daily videos of herself dressed up in different outlandish costumes to walk her dog - including a burlesque dancer, unicorn and a superhero.

Dancer Clare Meardon, 40, has been donning all manner of unusual outfits to walk her golden Labrador Hendrix after being dared to by a pal.

Her husband Aidan films the clips, which have racked up thousands of views.

Clare, from Porthleven in Cornwall, UK, said: "Because I run a dance school, I have a lot of costumes which I make myself.

"We were meant to be having a show in July, so I'd taken them all home to fix ahead of that.

"I was mending the Eve costume, and because it's a stretch fabric it is actually much easier to work with while you are wearing it, so I put it on.

"I realised it would be a really funny photo opportunity, and when I took the snap and sent it to my friends one of them said 'I bet you won't go for a walk like that'.

"After I posted the first clip online, people said watching it was the highlight of their day and I realised just how much of a bad time a lot of people must be having at the moment and how everyone needed something to laugh about.

"So the next day, I dressed as a ballerina and walked along the pavement in my pointed shoes.

"The hype just built and built from there to post a new video each day!

Clare, who runs the Savvy Studios in Hayle, said she wanted to give people a laugh while we're all stuck in lockdown.

"The main thing for me is about making people laugh," she said. "Laughter is the most important medicine for everyone, now more than ever.

"For me, mental health is as important as physical health. You can have a fantastically fit body, but if your head is full of negativity, you aren't healthy.

"A lot of the characters represent different parts of my personality, and how I might be feeling on that day.

"The superhero costume came from a desire to 'be fierce' and remind women they can be whoever they want to be - they can be sexy and sassy and funny and ridiculous all at once."

Alongside her funny videos, Clare is offering free classes on her Savvy Studio social media pages to help keep people fit and active during lockdown.
