Three binmen from Birmingham have been keeping morale up through Lockdown 2.0 by dancing to classic tunes on their round.

The Dancing Binmen have been entertaining residents and uniting locals for some time, but thanks to their TikTok videos - they've gone global.

Bringing communities together is even more important this month as 'Movember' continues to raise awareness and funds for male mental health and LADbible - in partnership with Jameson - is proud to bring you these uplifting stories of everyday heroes bringing people together during tough times throughout the month.

Jack John, 37, Adrian Breakwell, 48 and Henry Wright, 56, all work together on the same team as refuse collectors for Wolverhampton City Council.

The three of them thought up their own dance moves, choreographing their routines to the likes of Grease, Sister Act, Dirty Dancing and Thriller.

The hilarious trio never realised how big their videos would go but people from all over the world have commented on how the funny vids have cheered them up, while we go through a global period of uncertainty and hardship.

Henry explained to us that it's all down to Jack, who used to create TikTok vids in his spare time when lockdown first hit back in April. When a colleague saw them, the team's boss asked if he would like to do them for the team.

Speaking to LADbible, Jack, who has been in his job for 11 years, said: "I started off by downloading TikTok and did a few videos that people found funny.

"Our manager Claire asked if we could do a crew one, so we all agreed.

"The idea was to try and cheer people up during lockdown. The reaction has been mind-blowing we've had over 20 million views on social media, and they have gone worldwide.

"We have messages from Australia, USA, all over Europe - and of course Wolverhampton - from people thanking us for putting a smile on their faces again and making them laugh."

Adrian has worked with Jack and Henry as a driver since April on a two week, temporary contract, but the three have now become the best of mates.

He told us: "The positivity was generated and a feel good factor swept people up during the anxious filled time of lockdown.

"People would wave, toot horns, excited children's faces pressed against windows all wanting to see their new local heroes. Treats and goodwill messages were left on bins.

"As is the way, word spread. Messages received from a global audience. A substantial amount was raised for a local charity. All of this was running whilst we fulfilled our daily duties, serving the city and proudly not missing a day during the pandemic."

And the story doesn't end there. With the help of a local musician, the three pals have now even recorded their own Christmas song - and are hoping to get it to number one this festive season.

Adrian added: "If we've just made one person smile, lifted the gloom just ever so slightly - then we've already achieved so much."
