LAD Convinces Teammate He's Won £100k With Fake Secret Santa Scratchcard

He'd been stitched up like a kipper...

A young footballer managed to prank his mate in the worst possible way by convincing him that he'd won £100,000 on a scratchcard that was completely fake.

Worse still, their coach managed to captured his moment of joy on video. Unfortunately, he didn't hang around to see that joy turn to absolute despair.

Well, unfortunately for him - not for us.

The two lads in question are Charlie and Reece. They're both 18, and are teammates at Lancashire's Pro Direct Academy, run by former footballers Jamie Milligan and Trevor Sinclair.

Anyone who has ever been part of a football team knows that pranks and jokes are second nature, but very rarely do they land with such devastating and hilarious effect.

He realises that the scratchcard is a winner...

Speaking to LADbible, Charlie explained: "I bought them [the scratchcards] for him, I knew he'd fall for it. I bought him some real ones as well so it made it more realistic.

"There was nine in the whole thing, but there was one fake one in there.

"He was really happy because he hadn't won anything, he started standing up and going around saying that he'd won 100 grand and everything.

"Then, someone said 'how do you claim it' and he looked on the back and it said 'you must be in possession of a real scratchcard.

"You can just see his face drop as he throws it away."

Disbelief sets in...

His unfortunate mate Reece explained: "I was gassed out my head [when I thought I'd won] I was thinking of all the things I could buy,

"I was going to go and get new clothes. I'm angry because I didn't get the money. No £100k."

"I won a quid on the other scratchcards, then I went to the shop and got another scratchcard, and I was one off another £100k."

To be fair, it looks pretty convincing.

Not his day, you'd have to say.

However, there's always tomorrow. These things have a way of coming back around to bite you.

Reece added: "Somehow I'll get him back."

That's not the way Charlie sees it. He said: "No, he won't get me back."

Watch this space.

He starts spending the cash in his head...

As for their coach, Jamie, who filmed the prank, he told us: "We were doing a Secret Santa between all of the lads, and one of them just got really badly stitched up.

"The reaction was pretty priceless. Everybody knew apart from Reece. He was devastated to be fair, but he took it well though.

You can imagine the change in attitude when you think you've won 100 grand to - well - not."

However, if he's looking for any sympathy, he ain't getting any from Jamie.

"He's one of the biggest stitch-ups anyway, so he had it coming..."
