Ever had a message from someone asking if you like 'hot sexy women', miraculously sent by someone purporting to be a hot sexy woman? Or an email calmly explaining that you've inherited several million pounds' worth of Indonesian rupiah - but could you please pop your bank details down so it can be transferred to you?
Such messages are frustrating, but what if we played the scammers at their own game?

Catpish is the brainchild of a man called Mike, who's been busy 'responding to scam emails by chatting absolute nonsense to them, whilst also trying to find a wife'.
Mike made the bold move to start responding to those attempting to Catfish him, taking the time to get to know them - you know, really get inside their psyche.
He then documents his adventures on Facebook, where he has more than 12,000 likes, and the results are nothing short of hilarious.

Mike told LADbible: "I started replying to my spam email and sharing it with my mates for a laugh.
"My thinking is that if I am chatting nonsense to scammers and wasting their time, they will have less time to scam other people."
Mike said there has been many 'lonely single Russian models looking for love,' a few 'African princes offering me millions of dollars' and countless requests for money or gift cards.

"Sometimes I'll be speaking to them for weeks, chatting absolute shit, but they keep replying," he explained.

In one such exchange, Mike was messaged on Instagram by 'Belinda'. The two got talking ("I'm alright cheers. Got a bit of a dicky tummy, I took a chance on some prawns that were in the reduced section at Tescos last night, terrible shout") and eventually Mike's potential sweetheart plucked up the courage to ask if he could get her an Amazon gift card.
But Mike wasn't just going to buy Belinda one, just like that, so he hit back: "Please can I just check, you are really interested in me, aren't you?

"You don't just want to speak to me for gift cards, do you?"
Belinda assured him she was interested in him 'for real', but Mike still wasn't convinced and asked her to send him a picture of her waving.
Belinda turned defensive, saying: "I don't need to do that. If you making me do that, then you don't trust me. I shouldn't be chatting with you then."

Mike documents the witty repartee on the Catpish Facebook page, where he shares screenshots from every stage of the conversation - meaning you can grab some popcorn, kick back and watch the drama unfold.
He added: "My mates say I've got too much time on my hands... they're absolutely right."
