Ordering items online is a bit of a risk, you never know what you're going to get until it arrives and, on occasion, what you saw on the website is a far cry from the item you received.

One woman who knows that feeling all too well is Abigail Ross, 20, who said she was left looking like 'one of Jesus's 12 disciples' after buying a dress on the Internet.

Abigail ordered an 'extreme kimono sleeve midi dress' in a size 14 from ASOS to wear for her upcoming 21st birthday.

But when the dress arrived and she tried it on Abigail was less than impressed.

Fortunately, she saw the funny side and took some photos of herself draped in the pale green dress, which she shared with her mates in a group chat.

Like all good friends, they immediately took the p*** with one saying she looked like a priest and another comparing her to the son of God Himself Jesus Christ.

Abigail, from Whitehaven, Cumbria, said: "One of my friends mentioned that I looked like Jesus, then I realised, because of the drapes, I actually looked like one of the 12 disciples.

"I'd ordered a few dresses as it's going to be my 21st in April. I panic ordered that one because the others didn't look nice and then it came and it looked like a tablecloth.

"When I took it out of the bag, I thought maybe it was a dress that looked better on than off.

"But when I put the dress on I thought they'd sent me the wrong size because it looked huge - it didn't look nice at all.

"It looked like I'd ordered it 10 sizes too big - it's a 14 but looked like a 22.

"I realised it looked awful and then when I went to show my mam we both just burst out laughing.

"I felt ridiculous when I put it on, I thought I looked like I'd lost loads of weight and my mam said that the sleeves looked like loose skin."

Due to some online discounts Abigail paid £77 for the dress, which should have been £110, but, perhaps unsurprisingly, she's now sent it back for a refund.

Abigail, a student nurse, added: "I've seen the funny side to it now - it's not put me off online shopping."
