Woman Mortified After Receiving 'Embarrassing' Note From Neighbour About Bathroom Window

The neighbour slipped a note through her door in a bid to spare her blushes

A woman was left mortified after a neighbour left her an embarrassing note about her bathroom window.

Sarah Yates, is currently on holiday in Greece, but her cousin - who she lives with in Stockport, UK - sent a photo of a letter posted through their letterbox yesterday (Friday 23 July).

The letter read: "Hi, you need to put blinds up in your bathroom.

"When you shower you can see everything. Didn't want to embarrass you by knocking on. Thanks."

A neighbour decided to give her a heads up with a letter.

I suppose the letter is slightly less embarrassing than a face-to-face 'I can see you naked in the shower' newsflash - but still, not great.

Journalist Sarah has been living in her first home for a year and recently refitted the bathroom, installing new brighter lighting which has seemingly proven to be more illuminating than she'd planned.

The 26-year-old said the faux pas was 'mortifying'.

She said: "I received a text with the letter pictured from my cousin and was totally shocked.

"I assumed you could see our figures through the frosted window but I didn't realise they could see everything.

"The previous owner had an old bathroom in and a dimmer light so they mustn't have been able to see them showering before.

"I've put a new suite in and installed spotlights which are quite bright so it must have made a difference to what they can see."

Sarah didn't think the neighbour would be able to see her through the window - understandably.

She added: "It's just our outlines you can see, but they obviously don't want to have to see that through their windows.

"Once I'm back from my holiday I'll be isolating for 10 days so I'm going to spend some time in the garden putting some taller plants in front of the window for extra privacy.

"It is all quite mortifying really."

Last year, a woman across the pond was left with the same sinking feeling as Sarah after her daughter took a nude photo of her and sent it to her colleagues.

Mother-of-four Emily Schmitt, from Ohio, made the critical error of allowing her toddler to play with her phone while she was drying her hair.

Unfortunately, her daughter's idea of 'playing' involved taking a snap of her mum's bare arse and sending it to 15 of her Snapchat contacts.

Emily was 'mortified' when she realised what had happened.

It was only when a co-worker text her saying 'thanks for the nude' that the penny dropped.

Emily said: "I was mortified.

"I literally think I died for a minute then came back to life so I could tell people what happened.

"It's so funny - this child of mine is wild. We just say she's feral - she cannot be tamed.

"My parents own the real estate brokerage that I work for.

"To make matters even worse, I walked in the next day and my dad, who's the broker, was like, 'Oh look, here comes the company porn star.' I was like, 'Okay, I quit. I'm done.'"
