A young lad with cancer woke from a coma on Christmas Day to tell his family he loved them before going back under and dying a few weeks later.
Jay Oxley, 17, was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma a year ago. He was given a bone marrow transplant and then chemotherapy, but it was all unsuccessful. He was put into an induced coma and brought out of it so that he could spend Christmas Day with his family, reports the Mirror.

His final words to mum Claire, dad Ben and siblings Harvey and Ella were, "Merry Christmas, I love you all so much" before he was put back into to coma to help him recover.
Tragically, he passed away on January 9.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post, Claire and Ben said: "From the day we first found out he had cancer he has battled harder than any person should ever have to in their lifetime.

"To say we are proud would be an understatement. He has the heart of a lion and never gave up.
"He was a dreamer and we loved that about him - what's life without a dream even if they don't come true?
"We will miss his laugh, his grumpy face in the mornings and the silly banter we used to have. He will leave a hole in our hearts that no-one else can fill."
The family set up a GoFundMe page to get his tractor licence and own his own farming quad bike for when he recovered. They are now donating the money raised to The Teenage Cancer Trust, The Sick Children's Trust, Rainbow's Hospice and Anthony Nolan.
