Darth Vader, C-3PO, And A Couple Of Storm Troopers Give A Disabled Kid His New Arm
After being born with only one arm, an Elementary School student, 9-year-old Alvin Flores, has been waiting to receive his bespoke prosthetic limb.
But he couldn't believe his luck this week when all his classmates were pulled from class for a special assembly. He was presented with the mechanical arm, which was created using 3D printing technology, by Darth Vader, C-3PO, a couple of storm troopers, and some other Star Wars characters.
"Bring forth the one," the leader of the Dark Side bellowed as Alvin came forward and was presented the arm by one of his minions.
"I was shocked," the young lad told WOWT.com. "And I was all like 'what's in that box?'"
With the help of 501st Legion, a Star Wars fan club, he immediately attached the arm and it wasn't long before he was fist-bumping people for the first time ever.
The piece of kit came from Limbitless Solutions, a charity group that develop prosthetics for children at no cost to their families, and reminds me of when Robert Downey Jr. sorted out a young fan with an prosthetic Iron Man hand.
Good luck to Alvin with his new arm - I bet he now has A New Hope of doing anything he wants.
