In news that may well come as a shock to many, Chandler has been voted as the best Friends character, just as the show turns 25.

In my experience, Friends fans generally come in one of two categories - the indecisive viewer, who has a different favourite depending on their mood/the weather/the day of the week. And then we have the staunch stubborn ones who don't need to take a second to consider who their favourite is when posed the question.

So, seeing as it was too difficult for us to choose, LADbible put it to the people on Twitter to decide definitively who is the best of the Friends crew.

It's definitely something that people have an opinion on, given that almost 20,000 people voted. Coming out with an embarrassing, and in my opinion, completely unfair five percent of the votes in her semi-final was Monica - her humour is clearly too sophisticated for some of us.

With 10 percent of the votes in her semi-final, Phoebe came in second to last - not surprising given she is easily the most annoying of them all.

Then we had Rachel with 19 percent and Ross with 30 in their semis - mediocre scores for mediocre characters. The final vote was between Chandler and Joey, with Joey taking 44 percent in the final, narrowly pushing Chandler in to first place with 56 percent.

And people certainly had a lot to say about the characters and where they ranked in their own list of favourites.

We have the analysers, who have closely monitored the progression of the characters:

The defensive one:

The stubborn one:

And then, very diplomatically, the one who sums up why it's not fair to say that Chandler is the best:

That settles that one then!
