Fathers4Justice Campaigner Whips His 'Balls' Out Live On National TV

Kate Garraway chaired a debate on 'Good Morning Britain' about Father's Day and the campaigner jumped up and unzipped his trousers

A good debate can be refreshing when there are two passionate people presenting their cases about something they regard as important. Take the subject of Father's Day and whether or not it should be scrapped, for example.

That's what these two guests were debating on Good Morning Britain but it all went pear-shaped as one guy went ever-so-slightly off-script - he jumped up, unzipped his trousers and whipped out his 'balls' live on morning TV.

Yes, you read that right. Let's face it, that's enough to put us off our breakfast. See for yourself:

The hosts of GMB, Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh, were left shocked and furious earlier this morning as they were leading a debate between Fathers4Justice campaigner Matt O'Connor and Ollwyn Moran, a child development specialist and mother.

Everything started as expected - a nice, civilised chat - with Matt insisting fathers should be celebrated but it soon descended into chaos. My eyes, my poor eyes.

Towards the end of the debate, Matt suddenly said: "I've just got to say one important thing here.

"I was treated like an outcast today in this studio, I was put - not in the green room with Ollwyn - but dumped outside.

"And I've got to say one thing, I'm going to show you my balls." Why is there so much drama on that show recently?

The Sun reported that as Kate, Ranvir and Ollwyn looked on horrified, the father-of-three stood up and started to undo his belt.

Both presenters quickly held their hands up (in some sort of surrender - 'we'll give you anything but please God don't unleash that') and cried 'No, no, no' with Ranvir saying: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry can we just cut away?"

But Matt was committed, there was no turning back. He undid his fly and flung a few pairs of small pink balls out of his trousers. Why does he have a 'few pairs' you ask? Well, ok, they weren't his actual balls. No, these were soft fabric kind of things.

Ollwyn is clearly mortified.

In the middle of all the commotion, he shouted: "Balls, balls to a fatherless Father's Day."

Trying to calm the situation, a relieved Ranvir said to him: "Can I just apologise, if you felt like that?"

Kate said: "That would be a technical reason."

But Matt persisted, saying it was 'rubbish'.

"I have been coming here for 20 years and I have never been treated like that," he added.

Kate replied: "I will talk to you afterwards about today but we always separate guests who are going to be part of a debate."

Shaking her head and shuffling her papers, she added: "I think you've slightly let dads down there."

We'd love to be a fly on the wall for that behind-the-scenes conversation because Kate sure ain't taking any shit.

Speaking after his appearance, Matt said in a statement: "I went on the show to defend fathers, especially dads for whom Father's Day is the only day in the year that they may get some recognition.

"We've had 650 pairs of knitted balls made by grannies across the country who aren't able to see their grandchildren at any time of year, and whose pain on Father's Day is even greater when they worry about their sons who have no access.

"So I grabbed the opportunity to take a stand and get my knitted balls out on live TV."

Bit of a warning wouldn't go amiss next time.
