Aussie Bloke Combines Burger And Doner Kebab To Create The 'McKebab'

That'll cure what ails you after a big night out

An Australian bloke has created what might just be the ultimate hangover cure by creating what he reckons is a cross between a McDonald's Big Mac burger and a kebab.

Yes, that's gonna sound pretty unappealing to some people, but to others it might just be the slice of fried gold that would definitely cure all complaints on the Sunday morning after a big night.

So, it's worth pointing out at this stage that this has nothing to do with McDonald's and is completely an original creation, but this particular Aussie chap has been calling it the 'McKebab' and some have even said that it looks 'better than the original'.

Wait, what? Better than the original kebab, or Big Mac, or both? That doesn't really make sense.

Anyway, his wife posted a picture on Facebook showing the inspired creation, and was immediately bombarded with comments and questions asking for the recipe so that others can make their own versions at home.

One person wrote: "That looks better than the real deal."

Another said: "Ultimate pub meal."

So, according to the original post, the man's wife said: "Hubby made dinner tonight The Big Mac Kebab or as he calls it the McKebab. Cheap, easy to make and really yum."

As we all know, doner kebabs are traditionally made with thin sliced meat, salad, hot or yoghurt sauce, and wrapped up in a pitta or naan bread.

To create this hybrid version, the man stuck in a load of beef mince - although lamb would also work - in with a load of sausage mince - definitely not a normal kebab ingredient - along with some barbecue seasoning.

Then, he formed the meat into a large round loaf, slightly like a burger, before sticking it in the over for 40 minutes at 180C.

Then, he took it out, cut it up into the thin slices more associated with kebab meat, and stuck it in the flatbread with some Heinz special burger sauce.

He added some salad and cheese for that extra Big Mac feel, and voila.

The special burger sauce is the key here, as it has been said to taste very similar to the McDonald's Big Mac sauce.

Of that miraculous sauce, one person commented: "It's literally the best thing ever. It's become a part of everything I eat."

You can pick up a bottle in most supermarkets for about a quid, so give it a try.

Anyway, people seemed very keen to give this recipe a go, with one writing: "I think we have to try this one."

Another said: "We've done at home Big Mac's but this is great for something different."

A third offered: "I'll have to try, looks delicious."

There you have it. Give it a go and see what you think.
