Lately it's been quite the whirlwind for Percy Pig - the face of Marks and Spencer's popular bright pink gummy sweets - who in the past few years has turned 25, got married, travelled around the globe and had piglets.

But in a move that trumps all of that, we've learnt that now you can get Percy Pig doughnuts. We repeat: Percy. Pig. Doughnuts.

You won't be able to get them in an M&S store; they're actually the creation of Doughnut Time, an Aussie brand of doughnut shops that has just opened in Notting Hill, London.

The doughnut, aptly named the 'Notorious P.I.G.', has a strawberry glaze and strawberry buttercream, topped off with the sweets that inspired it.

The brand has become known in its native Australia - where it currently has 29 stores - for its colourful, playful and creative sweet treats, roping in popular products like Nutella, M&M's, Kit Kat, Rolo (that one's called 'Hans Rolo', FYI), Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Eggs ('Kind-er A Big Deal') and even Lucky Charms cereal.

There are some vegan options, too, like 'Ready to Crumble', which is filled with apple and cinnamon, coated with a caramel glaze and topped with a vegan pecan crumb.

For the Notting Hill Launch, the brand also rustled up a doughnut that paid homage to the new location - the 'Anna Scott' (yup, the name of Julia Roberts' character in Richard Curtis' Notting Hill). They even managed to rope in Great British Bake-Off winner Steven Carter-Bailey to create a 'Whoopsidaisies' orange and honey brownie to go on top.

For anyone that's not been acquainted with the sugary phenomenon that is Percy the Pig, he's a brand of sweets at M&S that has, in his 25-year lifetime, become something of a national treasure.

In 2011 he had a bit of a revamp and turned gelatine-free so that he could be enjoyed by veggies, and then in 2011 he met his now wife Penny Pig.

Controversially, it was Penny who popped the question to Percy, asking him to marry her. The pair went on a round the world trip and then they later had piglets in 2015.

See, that's just how much Britain cares about Percy Pig - he's not just a sweet, but an actual icon.

And if there's any indicator of whether or not you've made it, it's probably when you're made into doughnut form, right? Right.
