Mondelez, the company that owns Cadbury, confirmed the news to LADbible, but explained there is no launch date as of yet for the sweet treat's big reveal.
A spokesperson explained: "We're always listening to our consumers, so we can develop and provide people with a greater choice of products.
"This includes looking at a plant-based Cadbury Dairy Milk bar - however, we have no immediate plans to launch a new product in market.
"We are only interested in launching a new vegan product that retains the texture and taste that our consumers expect and love from Cadbury products."
Cadbury is the latest brand to develop vegan alternatives popular products. Last November, Mars launched a new dairy-free version of Galaxy bars.
The new bars come in three flavours - smooth orange, caramel and sea salt, and caramelised hazelnut - and are certified by the Vegan Society.
Mars says it spent six months knocking together its vegan bars, replacing the cow's milk with hazelnut paste and rice syrup.
Linda Lopez, the head of the sensory team at Mars, told the Guardian: "The taste of Galaxy has not changed in the nearly 60 years since it was launched. We wanted to retain the classic smooth and creamy taste and texture without any compromise."
The packaging also had an eco-makeover, too, with Mars announcing it would be its first chocolate bar wrapped in compostable film packaging, made of wood fibre, and covered with a cardboard sleeve.
Abigail Stevens, the trademark marketing manager at the Vegan Society, added: "We're proud to register Galaxy's first ever non-dairy milk chocolate bars with our vegan trademark. The brand has demonstrated that dairy is not necessary to make great tasting chocolate, and that people can still enjoy their favourites without the use of animals."
The new bars will set you back £3 for an 100g bar - double the price of a regular Galaxy bar.
