Chocolate Fans Fuming When They Discover How Many Mini Eggs Are In Cadbury's New £5 Tins

Do not mess with the public and their chocolate

Being short-changed is infuriating, but when you're being short-changed on chocolate - well, that's a different story altogether.

Chocolate fans are absolutely fuming at the fact that they are getting way less than they bargained for in the new Mini Eggs and Creme Egg multipack tins.

At first glance, all seems well with the tins, which contain ten bags of each of the popular chocolates. They sell in supermarkets for around £5.

But things soon started to descend when users of the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook started to question the true value of the treats.

The post, which got almost three thousand likes, showed the tin included the treat-sized bags of Mini Eggs, while the Crème Egg tin had eight standard Crème Eggs and another bag of smaller ones.

And who can blame them? Look at this appalling sight:

When all the packets are emptied out, you're left with a pretty sad-looking state of affairs. The tin looks almost empty - I personally don't have the time or inclination to count them out - but I definitely wouldn't pay £5 for that amount of sweets.

People noticed the sorry sight and replied to the post voicing their concerns.

One person calmly responded: "I'm disappointed at the contents. Thank you for sharing this picture, I will just buy all separately for cheaper."

Can't say fairer than that.

Someone else had a few words of advice, pointing out: "Just buy the bigger bags in Tesco at the moment for £1 get five of them and still will have more then the contents in the tin."

Another person pointed out that it's not all about the contents, but the container itself: "So it's a free tin.

"Think the chocolate adds up to about a fiver. Kids will enjoy them though."

Good point.

One lady wasn't happy with that as an excuse though, posting: "Why do they always think they can rip you off just because it comes in a tin? Don't fall for it."

A representative for Cadbury told LADbible: "The Cadbury Mini Egg tins and Cadbury Creme Egg tins are designed to be the perfect gift for bakers, who we know love to include our eggs in their recipes, whether that's a Cream Egg tray bake or a Mini Egg topped Easter sponge.

"The Cadbury Mini Egg tins contain ten Cadbury Mini Eggs bags, whilst Cadbury Creme Egg tins contain eight Cadbury Creme Eggs and one bag of Cadbury Creme Egg Mini Filled.

"The Cadbury Mini Eggs and Cadbury Creme Eggs are kept in packets to avoid damage to the eggs, so they look their best when added to Easter treats. The tins themselves are festively designed to be a colourful gift to be kept and reused."
