Doritos has announced that it will give a teenager more than £10,000 for her puffy crisp. Watch the 13-year-old explain how it went viral here:

Rylee Stuart, from the Gold Coast, Australia, almost ate the puffy crisp, but decided to share a video of it on TikTok.

Somehow, the unusual-looking snack went viral, with the video racking up more than 4.3 million views.

And after one person commented suggesting she try to sell the crisp, Rylee decided to list it on eBay.

From there, a hotly contested auction ensued, with bids reaching the presumably insincere heights of $100,000 AUD (£53,558).

But now it has been confirmed that Rylee will get a pay day out of the crisp, with none other than Doritos stepping forward to reward her with $20,000 AUD (£10,711).

Rylee is glad she didn't eat the crisp.

Chief marketing officer, Vandita Pandey, said: "It's been a whirlwind couple of days for Rylee and her family and we've loved following her story.

"We've been so impressed with Rylee's boldness and entrepreneurial spirit, so we wanted to make sure the Stuart family were rewarded for their creativity and love for Doritos."

However, the cash could well tear the Stuart family apart now, as they've argued over who is the rightful owner of the crisp.

Rylee previously told 9News: "I was about to eat it, and I thought I better save it for later.

"I saw $10,000 [on the listing], and I like screamed.

"Dad is saying that since he bought the packet, it's his chip, but I ate the packet and found it, so I believe it is mine."

Meanwhile, a teen who found the 'world's biggest' Hula Hoop has said he's keeping it tucked away in a box in case a museum wants it.

Rowan Umland, 19, from Peckham, south London, was stunned when he found the 3.7in snack in May and said he could be tempted to sell it if the price is right.

Size of that.

He said: "I opened the packet and it was the first thing I saw - I couldn't believe it.

"I did consider eating it for a split second because I was hungry, but I thought it might give people a laugh so I put it to one side.

"I love Hula Hoops and I've eaten hundreds of bags in my lifetime, but I've never seen anything like this before.

"It's got to be one of the biggest - if not the biggest - in the world!

"I'm definitely not going to eat it, and it's being kept safely in a box - who knows who might want it one day? A collector, a museum? I've already had to tell my family 'hands off'!"
