When you pop into your local store to buy a drink, you're confronted with a ton of options.

Do you want water? Do you want something fizzy? Do you want something with a bit of a kick?

Well, your decision making might get a little bit harder after Fanta revealed it's launching its grape flavour in the UK but people aren't best pleased with certain elements.

The Sun reported how one fizzy drink enthusiast wrote: "Hopefully it won't just taste like fizzy Ribena..."

It seems as though the drink will only be available as a 'Zero' version in a bid to get around the government's sugar tax to which another person said: "Shame it's only zero".

According to the Mirror, the company will be bringing in the purple deliciousness next month and will be available in all shapes and sizes, including the all important 330ml cans, 500ml bottles and 2L bottles.

For people in select places around the world, like South Africa and South America, this is nothing new as the flavour has been around for years.

This is the second time in six months that the company has expanded its range to give people a bit of variety.

Just before Halloween last year the brand upped its game with two new flavours - blood orange and pink grapefruit - after holding a 'flavour election', which had more than 150,000 members of the British public vote for their favourites.

The Halloween campaign, which ran through April 2018, saw each of four potential new flavours represented by a popular online influencer, who encouraged consumers to vote for their favourite via online prank videos that went on to gain 18.7million views.

The victors were announced in September - Fanta Blood Orange Zero and Fanta Pink Grapefruit Zero, to give them their full titles - with both new variants naturally-flavoured and containing no sugar or calories.

Sadly though, those two new additions were only around for the spooky season. Hopefully grape will stick around longer and be a hangover cure for some.

There were fears last year that Fanta Lemon was going to be discontinued.

The confusion stemmed from one Tweet, where an anguished Fanta fan asked the question: "Have you discontinued Fanta Lemon?"

The Fanta Twitter account then replied: "Sadly, yes, Fanta Lemon was discontinued. But, you can check out our 12 flavours at Fanta.com to see what's near you."

This sent the Internet - us included - into a tailspin. How are we supposed to quench our thirst in this ridiculous heatwave without an ice-cold can of refreshing lemon soda, Fanta?! HUH?!

The UK account then posted a Boomerang to confirm it's still available, which has made us so thirsty we're going to have to go buy a crate of the stuff right now.
